In 2008, Melinda Breedlove's mother, Louise McKeel, passed away. She watched as the hospice unit cared for her mother and her family. From this experience, Melinda desired to find a way to give back. She discussed the idea with her sister, Dianne, and the conversations spread.
Family and friends came together as Melinda and Dianne explained the desire to assist hospice patients. This opportunity interested the group as most in attendance had experienced the special attention and support of a hospice unit. On June 10, 2011, Caring Hearts United was organized.
And then it grew.
With over 100 volunteers, Caring Hearts United has raised over $100,000 to assist hospice units and patients across 11 counties in the Middle Tennessee area.
